I spent the weekend solo-camping in this lovely hidden place at the heart of Žumberak forest. The only private place I know 50 min from the city of Zagreb that is inside a Natural Park, just perfect for my plan. Franjo, the friendly owner of the place (whom I met at my departure) gave me a tour throughout the site where 4 cozy huts are being built. I highly recommend it, access to water and accesible by car (toilets in the making). Perfect for a weekend trip with friends or for small group facilitation where nature play the main role.

Welcome to Robinzonski Camp – Zminjak Hill
A secluded off-grid retreat in the “civilized wilderness” above the village of Jelenići, located in the heart of the Žumberak – Samobor Hills Nature Park.
How it all began
“One foggy and rainy day in the late ’90s, I was wandering through Žumberak, pushing through an overgrown path on Zminjak Hill.
Suddenly, the clouds opened up and a ray of sunshine broke through – and I felt it in my chest.
That moment, and a childhood dream of living in Žumberak, set me on a journey to find the perfect place to settle.
Strangely enough, it turned out that Zminjak Hill had been waiting for me all along.”
From a tent to a small camp
A patch of wilderness, a tiny tent, and me – that was the beginning of a pioneer adventure that still lives on today.
There was no water, no electricity, no comfort, no buttons or electronics to make life easier.
Bound by countless rules, and shaped through many trials and errors, I slowly built a simple, functional, and safe off-grid nature camp.
Today, it’s a place for those who seek peace, silence, and reconnection — offering forest cabins and tree tents, tucked between the hills and trees of Žumberak.
The camp is located above the village of Jelenići – a quiet crossroads leading toward Krašić and Karlovac, Samobor and the Samobor Hills, Budinjak and Sošice, and further toward Bregana and Slovenia.
